Sequoia National Park

The Gamlin Cabin was built in 1872 by Isreal Gamlin. Since then it has been the home of Gamlin while he grazed cattle. When the National Park was established it was used as a store house and then the quarters for the first park rangers stationed in the park. Built from surrounding Sequoia trees, the cabin sits abandoned just a few feet away from the largest Sequoia tree (the General Grant tree).

The General Grant tree is the widest Sequoia.

The General Sherman Tree is the largest tree in the world (by volume.)

This marking is the General Sherman trees footprint.
